NEWSLETTERS

- ONLY ONE GOD, ONLY ONE JESUS, ONLY ONE GOSPEL -

"...addicted...to the ministry of the saints.…For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ."

(1 Cor. 16:15; Eph. 4:12)

“…we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved…”

                                                                                                                                     (Acts 15:11).

OCTOBER 2017

Grace and peace to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity and in truth, and who believe and rejoice in His name according to the Scriptures. We trust you are well, and that you continue to believe, judge by, and have great joy in, God’s one and only Gospel which alone contains His Testimony  that must be believed in, of the Person and Work of His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The following is an excerpt taken from my book: ‘For God So Loved…WHO’:

Simply because there are many who have opposing views to what the actual truth is,  cannot alter the fact that truth is truth except in the minds of those who cannot see it, or who are heavily biased against it preferring the truth to be something other than what it is. Alternate views are not always legitimate, particularly when they contradict the truth. They are simply wrong views. Anything not in line with truth cannot be true. Simply because one has a thought, and has expressed that thought by way of a perfectly constructed sentence, does not automatically, let alone legitimately, mean it is of any value other than to the one whose thinking produced it. The apostle Paul did not declare those to whom the Gospel of God was hidden, correct in their contradictory beliefs, and, therefore, saved, but promptly pronounced all such people as lost who did not believe the truth, whose thoughts were not conformed to the reality of God’s Word: “But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost” (2 Cor. 4:3). Now, of course, the lost do not believe themselves to be lost, for they believe what they believe to be truth. But, has what they sincerely, and wholeheartedly, believe become truth simply because they believe it? Does what they believe reflect some degree of legitimacy based on the fact they believe it? Certainly not. Do those who believe in error believe it because it is wrong? Not at all, for if they knew it was wrong they would no longer believe it. Nevertheless, reality, and the consequences of not conforming to it, remains as inflexible as ever. If there is truth, then there is right and wrong. If there is a true Gospel, if God has a Gospel, then one is either right or wrong in what they believe it to be. Those who do not believe the truth are not right, but wrong. Those who will not accept reality, and conform their lives to it, are not right, but wrong. Whilst they are not necessarily bad people, they are, according to reality, very, very wrong. Truth, and the fact that it is truth, remains unaffected by those who do not believe it. Truth cannot be perverted except in the minds of those who do not believe it. Man can have his perverted ideas of truth, but none can ever change truth by causing it to become something other than what it is.                                                                                     ■

►      For the Christian, the apostle Paul’s fourth chapter of his second Letter to the believers at Corinth is one of great hope. The following are just two verses from it: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (2 Cor. 4:8,9). Brethren we would do well to remember these Scriptures when we are given times of trouble and perplexity. In times when we are at our lowest, when all seems so impossible, always look up, always look to the One Who is our Hope. Remember the reality of our salvation, and the fact that our redemption draweth nigh.

►      Praying to the Father, the Lord Jesus said of His chosen: “Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy Word is truth” (Jn. 17:17). These words echo throughout the following verse of Paul the apostle, “But we are bound  to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto He called you by our Gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thess. 2:13,14).

►      The Lord Jesus said: “…whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (Jn. 3:15). The Lord may well have said ‘Whosoever believeth the Gospel’. Christ also said: “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth (the Gospel) and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” (Mk. 16:15,16). To believe in Him is to believe the Gospel, for the Gospel is that wherein Christ, and His Righteousness, is revealed (see Rom. 1:16,17). No false gospel ever revealed the true Christ, so too, the true and only Gospel of God never revealed a false Christ.

►      Paul the apostle’s Letter to the saints which were at Ephesus spoke of “One Lord, one faith…” (Eph. 4:5). The one faith spoken of comes from the Lord as a gift which is given to all His people, those whom He loves and has entrusted to His Son. This gift with which every true Christian believes, believes in one Gospel: the Gospel of grace which brings salvation to all His chosen.

►      The Christian’s sins have been removed as far as the east is from the west. FREE FROM SIN FOREVER MORE, EVERMORE TO BE WITH THE LORD.

►      Many say that no one knows what the true Gospel of God is. Others go so far as to say the Gospel of God is lost. In reality it is not the Gospel of salvation which is lost, but those who do not believe it.

The following is an excerpt taken from my book ‘Born of the Gospel’:

Belief of the Truth is a distinguishing feature of every true believer. Speaking to true believers, Paul stated: "...God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and (through) BELIEF OF THE TRUTH; whereunto He called you BY OUR GOSPEL, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thess. 2:13,14). However, it is said of those who perish, which includes many professing Christians, that they do so "...because they RECEIVED NOT THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved...that they all might be DAMNED WHO BELIEVED NOT THE TRUTH..." (2 Thess. 2:10,12). Not damned principally because they were immoral but damned because THEY DID NOT BELIEVE, and HAD NOT THE LOVE FOR, the Gospel! Everyone believes they believe the truth or they would not believe it. But most who believe they have the truth, do not have the love of THE Truth and have instead embraced a lie: "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Prov. 16:25). Professing believers, that is, those who claim to have been saved prior to hearing and believing God’s Gospel, have redefined God’s Gospel by wrenching it apart and making room for false doctrines and various ‘spiritual’ experiences which made them feel ‘spiritual’ and ‘good inside’. They feel sure that they have the truth and the true God, for these things have combined to convict them of God’s existence and of the historical fact that Jesus Christ died on a cross for sinners. This, coupled with a moral reformation, which incidentally any atheist can experience, is evidence enough for them that what they have is THE Gospel. Millions of lost people today believe that God exists and that Christ died on a cross for sins. Hell is full of people who claimed to have believed in Jesus. Demons believe that there is one God and tremble (Jas. 2:19). Many have walked and do walk this earth today ‘calling’ on the name of Jesus. Christ said that many worshipped Him in vain (see Matt. 15:9). When asked if few would be saved, Christ answered: "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able" (see Lk. 13:23-27). Christ stated in Matthew 7 that "NOT EVERY ONE that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven..." One must not believe all who come in the name of Christ (Matt.24:5), but all must be tested and everyone should examine themselves to see whether they are in THE Faith and whether or not they are being taught the Truth by their leaders (1 Jn. 4:1).                                                                                                          ■

►      Mercy toward others, as well as forgiveness, are things which every Christian has. These attributes are a reflection of God’s love for His people. The urge to forgive and to have mercy toward one and all should be desired by every true believer, based on God’s mercy and forgiveness of them. Loving your neighbour is to forgive your neighbour, to have mercy toward your neighbour. How much more the brethren and family members. Grudges and the like should be nowhere near any believer, for the desire to love and forgive, to treat others as we have been and are treated by Almighty God, is the command of God. Obeying anything less than this is disobeying God. Do you welcome God’s love, mercy and forgiveness, while treating others cruelly, unforgivingly, even ruthlessly? Many think they are forgiving people, but if one does not forgive as they have been forgiven by God, one is not forgiving at all. Forgive God’s way not the world’s way.

The following is taken from my book: ‘That’s Just Your Opinion’:

…when people say no one knows what the Gospel of God is, they are simultaneously declaring that there is no one who knows what the Gospel of God is not. You cannot make a judgement unless you have a standard, or rule, by which to judge. Without a standard, something to go by or measure with, the whole matter becomes a debatable up-in-the-air issue. Consequently, if no one knows what the Gospel is and no one knows what the Gospel is not, how can anyone rightly declare any gospel to be true or false? How, then, can anyone rightly consider themselves saved. Satan, the meddlesome and chief enemy of the Gospel, is clearly the orchestrator behind all this confusion. If one believes that no one knows what the Gospel of God is, and, therefore, that no one knows what the Gospel of God is not, how can they be so sure they have never heard it? How can they be certain that what they have just labeled 'your opinion' was not in fact the very Gospel of God? Again, if no one can know what the Gospel of God is how then can anyone say what the Gospel of God is not? If the Gospel of God is lost how can any say, with any Scriptural certainty, that what they believe is the Truth of God? There are two kinds of people who are happy and at peace with what they believe the Gospel of God to be: Those who have the Gospel of God and those who are ignorant of the fact that what they believe is not the Gospel of God.                                                                                                                                                                                    ■

As always, I look forward to hearing from you all, and pray that the gracious and loving Father, Who alone is Holy and Just, will continue to bless all His elect through His Mercy and Truth, and that you will continue to be edified and instructed by items available through this ministry. For God’s enemies, only one thing awaits: “Clouds and darkness are round about Him: righteousness and judgement are the habitation of His Throne. A fire goeth before Him, and burneth up His enemies round about” (Psa. 97:2,3). Our prayer to God for ourselves and for all His people is: “Order my steps in Thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me” (Psa. 119:133). “Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: and let such as love Thy salvation say continually, Let God be MAGNIFIED” (Psa. 70:4). Thank you again for your prayers and support. “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His Grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).

“Now unto the King Eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Tim. 1:17). "Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing" (1 Peter 3:8,9).

“…Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen” (1 Pet. 5:14).
