GOD'S ONLY GOSPEL

NEWSLETTERS

- ONLY ONE GOD, ONLY ONE JESUS, ONLY ONE GOSPEL -

"...addicted...to the ministry of the saints.…For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ."

(1 Cor. 16:15; Eph. 4:12)

“…we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved…”

                                                                                                                                     (Acts 15:11).

DECEMBER 2018

Grace and peace to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity and in truth, and who believe and rejoice in His name according to the Scriptures. We trust you are well, and that you continue to believe, judge by, and have great joy in, God’s one and only Gospel which alone contains His Testimony  that must be believed in, of the Person and Work of His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The following is from “Jesus Christ is God”:

Many who deny that Jesus is God, also deny the Deity and Personage of the Holy Spirit. If Jesus had only been a man, then His efforts to redeem His fellow men from the punishment due unto sin would have been completely fruitless, for: Sinners are saved by God, “…salvation is of the Lord…Salvation belongeth unto the Lord…” (Jon. 2:9 & Psa. 3:8). God is the Saviour: “I, even I, am the Lord; and beside Me there is no Saviour” (Isa. 43:11), as Jesus Christ is the Saviour: “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel” (2 Tim. 1:10). If Jesus Christ is not God, then He cannot be the Saviour. “The identity of Jesus as Messiah and Saviour is tied, both historically and of necessity, to His relationships with the Father and Spirit, respectively. Put differently, if you imagine for a moment removing the Father and the Spirit from the historical Person Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you realize that this Jesus the Christ could not be—i.e., He could not exist and be Who He is—devoid of the Father and the Spirit. Indeed, the identity of Christ depends on the reality of the Trinity.” “Since you cannot explain the Bible's God without involving the Trinity, you can never fully explain how ‘Jesus is God’ makes any sense at all.” If there is no Trinity then the only alternatives are: 1. That God is Jesus Christ alone, or 2. that Jesus Christ is not God at all. If Jesus Christ is not God, then He cannot be the Saviour, and there can be no Trinity. However, if Jesus Christ is God—a separate Personage from the Father and Holy Spirit—this would be undeniable evidence supporting the fact that Jesus is the Saviour, that He is coequal with the Father, that there is a Trinity, a Triune God consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit Who rules the universe. The doctrines of the Trinity and the Deity of Jesus are eternally interrelated. If Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God equal with the Father, then we either have three Gods, or the one God has three Persons.                                                                                                ■

How can one be saved who believes in a gospel that is not the power of God unto salvation? There are many people involved in so-called Reformed Churches who know many true doctrines, even doctrines which make up the Gospel. Many have read my literature on the Internet and have agreed with the doctrines I teach and that what I say is nothing new. The stumbling block for these people lies in the teaching that none are, or can be, saved whilst holding to a false gospel and believing that they, or others, are saved believing it. Scripture teaches us that there is only ONE Gospel, only ONE power of God that is unto salvation. Therefore, anything that is presented to us as the Gospel that does not teach what the Gospel of God teaches, must be labelled a false gospel, another gospel, which cannot save any person, no matter how sincere they are in believing it or how lovely and nice they may be. It is not our sincerity in believing error that saves us but the faith of God given to us to believe His Gospel exclusively, and to repent of ever having believed that any other gospel had, or has, the power to save.

Why people attach shame to the recognition of error, and then in the face of that recognition choose to blindly GO ON BELIEVING IT, is, to say the least, befuddling. There are also many people that have crossed my path who, at first, could see what our Gospel was saying and did not have any disagreement with it, but then recognized that if they were to believe this Gospel, they would have to acknowledge the fact that they have been wrong in what they believed for years and were not saved at all. Once this realization dawns upon them, they sadly turn away from the truth they have heard, they purposely choose to ignore the truth they know they cannot deny and continue on, like some ignorant fool, in the lie they have believed in and felt comfortable with for years. They do not want the shame that comes with admitting error and the taunts from friends who remain in ignorance, and so choose to stay in their religious comfort zone. This may sound like fantasy, that there just couldn’t be real, intelligent people like this, but I can assure you that I have met such people and regret to report that they really do exist. They would rather shut out the sun than enjoy its warm rays of light.

The following is an excerpt from my book, How Many Gospels?:

If preaching is so important to God, don’t you think WHAT is preached is equally as important? Of course it is. God is not pleased simply because someone is preaching, but only when they are preaching His Truth. The Scriptures say that God has “...manifested His Word through preaching...” (Titus 1:3). “The meaning here is, that He has made known His eternal purpose through the preaching of the Gospel.” GOD IS NOT PLEASED WHEN A PERSON PREACHES OR BELIEVES A GOSPEL, BUT ONLY WHEN THEY PREACH AND BELIEVE HIS GOSPEL!  Those who believe in a false gospel and then hear the true Gospel, acknowledging its doctrines and yet resisting its attempts to convince them that they could not have been saved whilst under a counterfeit gospel, are playing with fire and there is no way you can play with fire and not get burnt, and false gospels will burn you to a crisp! Such people, unlike Paul, are not willing to give up their current comforts, friends, religious position and the respect they have gained over the years. They do not want to stand out from the crowd, preferring to remain one of the crowd rather than risk losing everyone’s respect and admiration. And, quite frankly, they simply do not want to admit, not even to themselves, that they have been deceived. Such people really have no love for God or His truth but are in love with themselves and anything religious that they can utilize to make themselves more comfortable in this world. MAKE NO MISTAKE, THE TRUTH WILL FIND YOU OUT! They show that despite all their claims to the opposite, “There is NO fear of God before their eyes” (Rom. 3:18 cf. Psa. 36:1). The fear of God, meaning to truly reverence God, to worship Him, does not merely concern our conduct but begins with a recognition of, and a reverence towards, His Gospel and no other.                                                                          ■

COMPROMISE IS FOR THOSE WHO SEEK THE LOVE OF MAN MORE THAN THE LOVE OF GOD! Such people compromise the Truth by saying they were saved before knowing it, thus subscribing to the unbiblical claim that a man can be just as saved whilst in ignorance of the Gospel as one who believes it. If this were so, if it were possible for a man who was in ignorance of the Gospel to be just as saved as the man who knows and believes it, WHAT THEN WOULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SAVED AND LOST? It could no longer be the gift of Faith, by the grace of God, in the Gospel of God. It could not even be a religious lifestyle, for that would mean that all religious people would be saved despite what they believed. Even not believing in Christ would not warrant a person’s exclusion from being numbered among the chosen!! Can you see the kind of madness one would be left with if belief of God’s Gospel was not the yardstick of salvation?

To borrow from Voltaire, despite their popularity and worldwide acceptance, false gospels are merely fables that have been agreed upon. Their universal appeal does not deny the fact that they are an abomination to God and to all His people.

GOOD INTENTIONS

How expert most people are at judging themselves by their good intentions and others by what they actually do. When it comes to believing in God people are comfortable with the fact that even though they may have a few doctrines wrong about God and don’t know everything there is to know about Him, salvation, faith, the Gospel etc., their intentions are to believe in Him and be good Christian people. Hell is the only place people such as this are going to if they remain in such an ignorant state. Ignorance is not bliss and good intentions are not the key to heaven but are the paving stones on the road to hell. It is not enough to intend to believe the truth about God, that the only reason you believe whatever it is that you believe is because you believe it to be the truth. You must actually believe in the truth about the only God or you have a false god. Believing the truth does not amount to some intellectual mountain we must each climb but is all about a revelation from God. Roman Catholics, Seventh-Day Adventists, Mormons etc., do not believe what they believe because they believe it to be a lie, but because they believe it to be the truth. So does this supposed intention to believe the truth enough to get these people saved? Of course not. To be saved is to have been saved by God. It is to have had His Gospel revealed to you by God Himself and to have been given the faith to believe it to the exclusion of all others as having any potency or potential to save. Being a Christian is not about good intentions it is about God having revealed Himself to a person and to have saved that person, the evidence of which is that the person actually believes the very real, distinctive, true and only Gospel and no other. Just like the only ones who seek God are those who are saved by God, the only ones whose intentions are good are those are walk with Him believing His Gospel.                                                             ■

The following is an excerpt from my book,’ The Doctrines of the Gospel of the Grace of God’:

The Gospel is such a perfect system of doctrines making manifest the totality of the grace of God in salvation that only the God of the universe could have ever produced such Good News. Therefore, to recognize a false gospel is not a difficult thing at all. A false gospel is that which, despite its being called a gospel of grace, includes within it something man must do to either get saved, be saved or remain saved, or one which fails to teach every aspect of grace, which is everything God has done to save His people from their sins, which would naturally imply that…(cont. on page 4)

(cont. from page 3) salvation is at least partly conditioned upon a work of man’s. Has someone presented you with a gospel that, whilst not overtly denying a grace doctrine, does not include it in their gospel? Then you have been taught a false gospel. Whether or not such a person denies that their gospel teaches that any part of salvation is conditioned on man, a gospel that does not include all of the grace it took to save a man is a gospel that has left itself open to being biblically labelled a gospel of works. A gospel that does not include every grace doctrine which deals with salvation, is one that naturally lends itself to doctrines which condition some of salvation on man. Paul the apostle says that if election unto salvation is all by grace then it cannot be by any works of man, therefore if election unto salvation left room for any work of man’s, it could not be by grace at all (see Rom. 11:6). Has someone presented you with a gospel that in any way, to any degree, conditions salvation on what you do, even if they attribute your doing it to the grace of God? Then you have been taught a false gospel. FLEE from such people and FLEE from such gospels!! Those who believe and teach such lies are neither competent nor qualified to teach the Gospel, for they are bearers of a false gospel and are therefore not saved, they are not ministers of His grace, they are not God’s people… In Romans 11 the apostle Paul makes it clear that the works of a man, that is, his attempts at obedience to God in an effort to recommend himself to God, is that which cancels out any possibility that he is properly, biblically pinning his hopes of salvation solely on the grace of God. A man who believes that any part of salvation is conditioned upon his own personal obedience to the laws of God, or that he is one of the elect because God foresaw that he would believe, or that it is he that comes to God, is a man who has not heard or does not believe that ALL of salvation is ALL by grace. In other words he is a person who has either not heard the full Gospel of the grace of God, of how He saves only by what He has done from election to final glory, or has heard it but flatly refuses to believe all of its blessed doctrines. No man has the right to expect the grace of God to save him who believes his own works play any part in his salvation (see Gal. 5:2-5). And no man who believes that anything short of believing all the doctrines that present the whole message of grace, which God’s Gospel of salvation is about, can expect the grace of God to save him, seeing that he does not believe that all the doctrines of all the grace of God in the salvation of His people are contained within the perimeters of the Gospel. A man is judged saved by what he believes the Gospel to be, and not by the extras he claims must be believed in addition to it. To deny any grace doctrine, which deals with salvation, its rightful place in the Gospel is to deny its necessity in God’s plan of salvation. “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work” (Rom11:6). From these Holy Spirit-inspired words of the apostle Paul we see and learn that no work of man’s, no effort at obedience on the part of man, can possibly be added to that which contributes to the salvation of man. It stands to reason, then, that if no work of man’s is in the Gospel, then the Gospel must be filled only with the grace of God in salvation.                                             ■

Thank you again for your prayers and support.

As always, I look forward to hearing from you all, and pray that the gracious and loving Father, Who alone is Holy and Just, will continue to bless all His elect through His Mercy and Truth, and that you will continue to be edified and instructed by items available through this ministry. For God’s enemies, only one thing awaits: “Clouds and darkness are round about Him: righteousness and judgement are the habitation of His Throne. A fire goeth before Him, and burneth up His enemies round about” (Psa. 97:2,3). Our prayer to God for ourselves and for all His people is: “Order my steps in Thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me” (Psa. 119:133). “Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: and let such as love Thy salvation say continually, Let God be MAGNIFIED” (Psa. 70:4). Thank you again for your prayers and support. “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His Grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).

"Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing" (1 Peter 3:8,9).

“…Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen” (1 Pet. 5:14).
