GOD’S ONLY JESUS

There is only ONE True Jesus Christ Who is the Son of God. Only ONE Who is God the Son, sent by God to the earth to do what the Father sent Him to do and Who accomplished all that He was sent to do. Jesus said: "For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me" (Jn. 6:38; see also Heb. 10:7-9). There is only one who fits the description given of the Son of God by God Himself. The True and only Jesus may be found in the Word of God—the Bible. God’s Testimony concerning His Son is clear and plain for all to see. It identifies and distinguishes His True Son from all counterfeits. Jesus’ very own words are recorded in the Bible for all to read and examine as are His deeds, including many miracles and other good works which showed to one and all that He indeed was Who He said He was: the God of the Universe. Miracles were performed by Him to give Authority to His Word, to show that He was God and the One prophesied by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15,18 as witnessed by those in John 6:14: "Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that Prophet that should come into the world" (see also Matt. 11:25; Jn. 3:2). The Bible says that Jesus "...went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the Devil; for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38). Even His enemies could not deny the miracles He performed.

Most people believe that there is only one Jesus, and insofar as there is only one True Jesus they are correct; but the Bible warns that men would come preaching other jesuses. False gospels and counterfeit christs abound in religion today like never before. Everyone from New Agers to the most conservative of ‘christian’ groups have ‘a’ jesus, but is it really THE Jesus of the Bible whom they worship? Do they believe God’s Testimony about His Son or do they listen to what man says about Him? Jesus said of those who set aside the Word of God, preferring their own traditions and man-made commandments: "But in vain do they worship Me teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Matt. 15:9; Mk. 7:7-13). The sobering reality is that most who profess Christianity have embraced another jesus and do not have the True Jesus Who is God’s ONLY Jesus. These people do not have THE Son of God but a worthless imitation. Scripture states: "He that believeth on THE Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not THE Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (Jn. 3:36). There are not many variations of what the Lord Jesus Christ did. Two people cannot be speaking about the same person if their descriptions of that person, and what they have done, is contrary. Nor can the varying depictions—what is taught in order to identify Him—about Who Jesus is and what He did be speaking of the same Person. They cannot all be right. Seventeen different descriptions of a person and what they have done cannot all be speaking of the same person! especially when they contradict each other. If I tell you Harry has blond hair and another man tells you Harry has black hair we can’t possibly be talking about the same person even though the name is the same. The one I am speaking of is named Harry and the other one is obviously not the same Harry but another Harry. So, too, the many and varied descriptions of ‘jesus’ cannot all be speaking of THE Jesus. Only one description fits Him: Who He is and what He has done. God calls Jesus His ONLY begotten Son (Jn. 3:16). No other person ever born fits the description God gave of His Only Son. For instance, He did not do what He did on the cross in several different ways. The plan of Redemption, the work of Atonement, was performed in one specific way. The many teachings which differ concerning Christ’s work on the cross cannot all be true. They cannot be speaking of THE Jesus and His Work. There is only one Truth which speaks of the True Jesus and His work of Atonement. Everything else is a lie which denies God’s only Son and speaks of another jesus. False teachings about Christ’s Person and work stand opposed to the True Jesus and what He was sent to do. They do not promote Him, the True Jesus, nor do they exalt Him. The Lord Jesus was sent to fulfill the Father’s will, to do a specific work in a specific way for a specific people, God’s own people. Jesus Christ the Son of God is Who God says He is and He did what God predetermined He would do. Jesus said: "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God" (Heb. 10:7).

There are many people during these last 2,000 years who claim to have followed, loved and adored God’s Son. Many laid down their very lives in the belief they were doing it for Him. Many would even kill true believers thinking they were doing it in honor of Him. Jesus said: "...yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service" (Jn. 16:2). Yet so many have been and are deluded into believing that the jesus they worship and love is the very Jesus Whom God the Father sent. You see, though there is only ONE True Jesus there are a myriad of other jesuses—false jesuses— which many people follow. They sincerely believe their jesus to be the True One. The intention of those who are ignorant of Who the True Jesus actually is and what He has done is to believe in and worship THE Jesus who is Lord, the Son of Almighty God Who is the God of Jacob, but when they proceed to identify their jesus by telling who he is and what he has done it becomes evident that their jesus is a counterfeit. Their jesus is not the one whom God identifies as His Son. As there are many erroneous answers to any one particular equation but only one correct answer, so, too, there are many false jesuses but ONLY ONE TRUE JESUS. Therefore, it is imperative that a person be clear as to how to recognize the True Jesus—Who He is and what He has done—from the false jesuses, and the only way to do that is not to follow the teachings of men but to search the Word of God to find out who God says Jesus is and what God says Jesus, His Son, has done. What God says about His Son identifies and distinguishes Him from all others. What God says matters; what God says is True. What man believes, however sincerely, does not mean it is true even if there are millions who believe it. Sincerity is an evidence of conviction but is it a conviction based on Truth? The ground upon which the True believer rests his faith must not be on sincerity alone but the dual foundation of sincerity AND Truth: "Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth..." (Josh. 24:14). Most people in the world are very sincere about what they believe but they are sincerely wrong. Many judge that they have the True Jesus simply by their subjective experiences or because they have certain feelings or have believed in their jesus for the past 20 years or more. ‘I believe in Jesus', they say, ‘and I know I have the True One because look how my life is blessed; look at how things have gone right for me ever since I believed in him. Look at how moral my life has become since believing in jesus. Look at how respected my pastor is who taught me my jesus. He studied at such and such a college you know and is no preacher of a false jesus; how could he be?’ These people are pragmatists. The pragmatist holds to the concept, whether he is aware of it or not, that truth consists, not in correspondence with the facts, but in successful coherence with experience. They are influenced more by practical consequences than by doctrine. They have entered the world of the mystical where experience is all that is required to validate experience. A world where there is no room for the Scripture which warns us that Satan is transformed into an angel of light and that his ministers appear as ministers of righteousness and come preaching another jesus (2 Cor. 11:4,14). There is no room for testing the spirits. All you need as evidence that you do have the True Jesus is a love for God and a sincerity of heart and then all you will experience will be of Him. This is, to say the least, a most perilous basis on which to judge whether one believes in and follows God’s Only Jesus. Many believe they are performing wonderful works in honor of the True Jesus yet they will be among the multitude who will be shocked and amazed at Jesus’ final words to them: "...I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY" (Matt. 7:22,23). Many today are like these people. Their intention is to believe in THE Jesus, but what they believe about Jesus shows that they do not believe in Him at all but in another jesus who is no jesus at all! All who judge their jesus as the True Jesus by anything other than God’s Testimony as recorded in the Bible are open to the craftiness of Satan and the evil deceitfulness of their own wicked hearts and have built their houses on sand (Matt. 7:26,27).

Paul the apostle solemnly warned that there would be false christs preached. In fact, he described the false messiah of the false prophets and teachers as ‘ANOTHER JESUS.’ "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth ANOTHER jesus, WHOM WE HAVE NOT PREACHED...ye might well bear with me" (2 Cor. 11:3,4). Paul did not say they would come preaching a Buddha or a Krishna but that they would come with another jesus claiming to be preaching THE Jesus of whom the apostle spoke. But because of the removal of some truths about the True Jesus and the inclusion of some false views which they attributed to Him—Who He was and what He had done—it would in reality make their jesus ANOTHER JESUS. These other jesuses do not exist. They are merely figments of man’s imagination who provide man with nothing but strong delusion. Peter the apostle said that "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Peter is here referring to the Person behind the name Jesus. It does a man no good to merely proclaim the name of Jesus if one does not know the Person behind the name. "And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only True God, and Jesus Christ, Whom Thou hast sent" (Jn. 17:3). There is only ONE name, there is only ONE Jesus, by Whom we are saved.

Paul spoke of men who would come preaching ‘a’ jesus but not THE Jesus. They would have the name right but they attributed things to His Character and what He had done that were wrong and not a true description of the True Jesus. They lied about Him and about what He had done, thus denying the True Jesus and what He actually did do. Deny what Christ did and you deny Christ Himself. The Muslims say that they have the same god as the Jews and the Christians. This is no doubt their intention and sincere belief but what they say about God shows clearly that they worship neither the God of the Jews or the Christians. They say that Jesus was a good man, even a prophet, but the fact they deny His Deity shows that they neither know they the Father or the Son: "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father..." (1 Jn. 2:23). False jesuses are idols fashioned by man’s own imagination, yet they would all be called by the very same name of the True and, one might say, the Original and Only Jesus, the only One Who is the Son of God. Jesus the Lord Himself said of false preachers that they would come and even proclaim that He was indeed the Christ and yet they would deceive many (Matt. 24:5). But it is not the True Christ which they are exalting! They attribute to their jesus what belongs solely to the True Jesus. They say ‘Jesus is Christ’, but it is not the True Jesus they are speaking of; its their own jesus—another jesus—to whom they refer, and many are put off guard and deceived by these false preachers simply because they use the name of Jesus. They are ignorant of the True Jesus and so fall for a counterfeit, an imposter, and call him Jesus! The apostle Paul also said that they would preach a false spirit and a false gospel, a gospel which would promote and proclaim another jesus: "...there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you (which speaks of another jesus) than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED" (Gal.1:7,8). False teachers say, ‘this is Jesus, this is what He is like and this is what He has done’. Others say, 'No, this is what He is like, and this is what He has done'. They cannot be speaking about the same person, even though they call him by the same name. Their intentions may well be sincere in preaching the True Jesus but their description of Him and what they say He has done identifies the jesus they speak of as another jesus, a false jesus. "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with me" (2 Cor. 11:3,4). The question which we put to the reader in light of these vital Scriptures is ‘which spirit HAVE you received? Which gospel have YOU accepted?’ And, ‘WHICH JESUS HAVE YOU BELIEVED IN AND DO NOW FOLLOW?’ because if it is not the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD—if it is not God’s ONLY Gospel, and if it is not THE Jesus, God’s only Son as described in the Holy Scriptures that you have placed your trust—then YOU are in a lost state. You have received ANOTHER spirit which has not led you to God’s Truth about God’s Son; you have accepted ANOTHER gospel which tells of ANOTHER jesus who is not able to save any. There are billions of people on this earth but only one you and only one me. We may have many similarities to other people but all the characteristics which make up every individual sets every individual person apart from all others. So, too, there is only ONE God and ONE Lord Jesus Christ in Whom there is hope and salvation for all who believe in HIM! There is no other person who can save you but the True Jesus!!

If a person were to say to you that they know your father and then proceeded to describe your father by defining what he is like and what he has done in his life, recounting many stories of his experiences with your father, it would appear for all intents and purposes that he does indeed know your father. Yet upon closer examination of his claim it becomes quite evident, by his description of your father’s looks, his character, and the finer details of his life etc., that the man he is describing, though in many ways similar to your father, is clearly not your father. This would leave one with the following conclusion: the person you were speaking to clearly knows your father’s name, he also is aware of several facts concerning your father, but when he claims that your father has blond hair, when you know he has brown hair; when he says he is 6' 4" tall and you know your father is only 5' 8" tall; when he says your father has a short temper when you have never known your father to have even raised his voice; when he claims your father is 65 years old when you know he is in fact 52, when he tell you he knows your father to be a plumber when you know your father is an executive for a large company, it becomes patently obvious that for all his sincerity he in fact DOES NOT KNOW your father AT ALL! The person he knows obviously has the same name as your father but it is not the same man! It did appear, at first, that he did know your father, and had you walked away after only a brief conversation with him, you would have been convinced for the rest of your life, and so would he for that matter, that that person knew your father and was a very good friend of your father. But the facts cannot be denied that upon further questioning of his claim to know your father he did not know him at all, even though there were many striking similarities and even though the person may have been under the impression that for the past 20 years the man with whom he spoke and whom he had befriended was your father. If you had not pointed out to him that the man he believed was your father was in fact not your father, he would have carried on for the rest of his life believing he really did know him. His honesty in the matter is not at issue; his sincerity is not in question. But at the same time his sincerity and honesty do not make up for his ignorance and the consequences of it. What is at issue is what he says and believes about your father: who he is and what he has done. It is by an examination of these details, comparing them with the truth about your father, that reveals whether he does know him or not. His sincerity alone really proves nothing except that he is convinced he knows him. It was a sincere conviction but it was based on false information. By closely examining the details of who you have been taught Jesus Christ is and what you believe He has done and comparing them with Who God says Jesus is and what God says His Son has done, will it be revealed whether you do know the True Jesus or not. A sincere conviction based on false information will not profit a man.

As we are all well aware, no one is beyond being deceived. We have all at one time or another found ourselves to be totally convinced of a matter only to discover that we were very wrong about something we were convinced at the time was so very right. When it comes to the matter of knowing the True Jesus, we can have all the zeal and all the sincerity in the world but if our zeal is not according to the facts, if our sincerity is not grounded in a right knowledge of Who Jesus is and what Jesus has done, then I am afraid that our zeal, sincerity, honesty and good intentions amount to absolutely nothing and will profit us nothing in the Day of Judgement. A man can have an abundance of religious zeal, sincerity, honesty and good intentions but if it is based on anything other than Truth it leads only to an ignorant and foolish man’s hell. The apostle Paul said this of the Jews: "...I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but NOT according to knowledge. For they being IGNORANT..." (Rom. 10:2,3). Ignorance of Who Jesus is and what Jesus has done is no excuse. Ignorance will not induce God’s mercy and no one will be pardoned on the ground of ignorance. Salvation itself is incompatible with ignorance of Who Christ is and what Christ has done. And all the sincerity in the world will not change this. There will be many, the Lord Jesus has stated, that will be convinced they knew Him, they even called Him Lord and believed they performed many wonderful works even to the casting out of demons in His name, yet Jesus will turn to them and say, ‘I never knew you’: "Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven...Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity" (Matt. 7:21-23). It is clear by this statement of Jesus’ alone that these people were very sincere about serving Jesus and were convinced they were Christians, but according to Jesus’ response to them they were not. The gospel these people were taught and believed in was not God’s Gospel; the spirit which they had received was not the Holy Spirit, nor was the jesus they believed in God’s Only Jesus.

No matter how often and how vehemently they deny it this will be the sad reality of the majority of people who believe themselves to be Christians today and who claim to know and deeply love Jesus Christ the Son of God. People say that they may not know a lot about theology, they may not be right about a lot of things but ‘one things for sure’, they say, ‘I love Jesus Christ’. These people are extremely sincere. They are firmly and fully convinced that the jesus whom their particular religious group teaches and with whom they have fallen in love with so deeply and for whom they live their lives is THE Jesus of the Bible. These people are genuine and zealous in their love for their jesus, but it is not according to knowledge—God’s Knowledge. In other words, their zealousness is not based on God’s Testimony of Who Jesus is and what Jesus has done. They are ignorant and therefore not submitted to the true God and His Jesus. They live for their jesus, they pray to him, they tell others about him. Many have even been martyred for the one they called jesus. They will not stand anyone taking the name of Jesus in vain or using it as a cuss word. They worship their jesus every Sunday and rejoice in knowing him. They feel honored to be able to tell others about him. They write books about him, they write songs about him, preach sermons about him, start up ministries in service to him, and fill their libraries with books and tapes which speak of their jesus. Whole religious empires have been erected and thrive on the devotion people have for the jesus they promote. As we saw in Matthew 7, many will believe that they performed many wonderful works for Him. Some even cast out demons in Jesus’ name. And yet for all this the fact remains that they do not know the True Jesus and that HE NEVER KNEW THEM! The Bible says that the Lord KNOWS them that are His (2 Tim. 2:19). These people were never His, they never at any stage belonged to the True Jesus because they called on, believed in and followed a false jesus. Ironically, a large number of those who claim to love Jesus have actually heard the True Jesus preached and have flatly and resolutely rejected the True Christ in favor of their false jesus, the one whom they are sincerely convinced is THE Jesus. Some do believe there are false jesuses being preached and believed in the world but none ever think that their jesus is one of the false ones. Few have ever examined the facts to see whether their jesus is the True One. They know that many are deceived especially in this day and age but hardly any ever stop and think that they might be among the deceived ones. This is the heart of deception: to convince people that THEY are not deceived. Every deceived person out there believes that they have the truth. The deceived do not know they are deceived.

The Devil, Satan, is a very crafty and subtle deceiver who has filled the world with a plethora of jesuses. These jesuses come as does the Devil himself: as angels of light speaking peace and love to one and all (2 Cor. 11:14). The Devil has a jesus to suit everyone’s needs and requirements. If you don’t like this jesus, try another until you find the one you are comfortable with and fits your idea of what Jesus would/should be like and what He would/should have done. False jesuses are always cradled in a false gospel and supported by a false interpretation of Scripture.

There is only One True Jesus who comes from God, as there is only one True and genuine legal note of currency which comes from a government. As there is more than one version of a counterfeit $50 bill, so, too, there are many different jesuses with differing characteristics: some similar some different yet their dissimilarities to the True Jesus distinguish them ALL as counterfeits. As a counterfeit bill must have, not merely the general appearance of the genuine so that as many people as possible can be deceived by it, so too, the most effective false jesus must be as close to the True One as possible. There are not many who would instantly recognize a counterfeit note upon first glance. Some have the skill to discern a counterfeit after only a few minutes of close examination. But generally speaking most people would not have a clue as to how to discern an expertly crafted counterfeit note from the genuine: what to look for etc. They don’t know what identifies and distinguishes the true from the false so how could they know what distinguishes the false from the true?

During a normal day’s shopping we go about our business exchanging money with many a shop proprietor never stopping to think that the note we have just received as change is a counterfeit. We just naturally expect that if we are handed a $20 note and told it is a $20 note, that it is what it appears to be and could not be anything else, because it certainly looks like a $20 note. Only if there is an obvious discrepancy in its appearance with what we are used to a $20 note looking like or if someone alerts us to it, do we stop to question and examine. This is precisely the situation when it comes to the True Jesus and the many false jesuses which abound in our day. If you had a cupboard full of money but later discovered it was all fake you would be left with nothing—No one to reimburse you or make up for your loss. You would be left penniless. If the jesus you believe and trust in is a fake, then you will be found wanting at the Day of Judgement. You will not have recourse, you will be without a Savior, without God and without hope.

A man stands behind a pulpit and delivers a sermon. Behind him is a huge sign declaring ‘JESUS IS LORD’. Before and after his speech songs are sung to this jesus in praise and worship. His name is spoken of and sung with a great passion, and people are urged to turn to this jesus and love him and believe him and have faith in him. Now, to say to anyone at such a meeting that the jesus being preached there is not THE Jesus of the Bible and that if the True Jesus were preached there most people would walk away and want nothing to do with Him, one would be considered quite insane. ‘What do you mean we don’t love THE Jesus’, they would protest. ‘We call him Lord. Its the Jesus of the Bible we believe in. Just listen to how our preacher speaks of him and how he exalts him. See how the people love jesus’. And this is the response most people would have to such a seemingly crazy statement as ‘you’re not worshipping THE Jesus of the Bible but another jesus altogether.’ They may well love the jesus being preached but they still have no love or desire for THE Jesus: the One about Whom God Testifies. Likewise, they may well have a love for the gospel which tells them of their jesus but it is not THE Gospel which tells of THE Jesus, God’s ONLY Jesus. False gospels speak of a false jesus and if one comes preaching a false jesus, their gospel could not possibly be God’s Gospel for God’s Gospel speaks of God’s Jesus.

There is a very wise saying which the world knows well: THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL!! When it comes to the matter of counterfeits; when it comes to the matter of fraud, when it comes to the business of deception, there is none so subtle, none so masterly and none so attentive to detail as Satan himself: "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which DECEIVETH THE WHOLE WORLD..." (Rev. 12:9). Presenting something that is blatantly fraudulent to all is not the way Satan works. Satan is subtle (Gen. 3:1); Satan is crafty. Satan is transformed into an angel of light the Bible says (2 Cor. 11:14), and what he presents to man as light, to man’s eyes, could not possibly be anything but light, and to think otherwise is sheer madness. THAT is how Satan works. THAT is his trademark: to present black as white, darkness as light, truth as error and error as truth, to deny God’s Word and replace it with his own (see Gen. 3:1-4), to deny God’s Jesus and replace Him with his own jesus, to encourage evil by promoting it as good. And he does it through his own ministers, who, like Satan himself who is their father, present themselves as ministers of righteousness, who say ‘Jesus is Lord’, whose end, the Bible says, shall be according to their works (2 Cor. 11:14,15 & Matt. 24:5). And Satan does all this in the name of Jesus. The greatest evil on this earth is conducted by Satan and performed by his ministers and servants in the name of ‘jesus’.

The Bible says "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump" (Gal. 5:9). The leaven spoken of here is in reference to false teaching being mixed in with the truth. When this is done, the truth is changed and one is left with a lie. If a little error, a few lies, are mixed in with the truth about THE Jesus, what you have done is change the whole truth about Him, Who He really is and what He has really done, and you are left with a lie, a worthless counterfeit, an idol, which can do nothing. If we say that 2 + 2 = 4½ or 3½ we would be incorrect; we would not have or believe in the TRUE answer no matter how convinced we were in believing we had the true answer nor how much we considered ourselves sincere seekers of the true answer. To claim sincerity of belief as proof enough that our answer is accurate would still not make the answer one held the correct one. Take away the smallest fraction from the correct answer or add the minutest amount to the true and you have turned it into a lie. This is exactly what is done when men attribute to THE Jesus what He did not do or fail to attribute to THE Jesus what in fact He DID do. The apostle Paul warned of a false gospel and of another jesus. If anyone preached any other way to salvation than by the Sovereign grace of God, then they would be preaching another gospel. If anyone came and preached anything about Jesus which was not true then they would be guilty of preaching another jesus in whom there is no salvation to be found.

Let us say that you were going to try your hand at the counterfeit game. You wanted to produce fake money in order to deceive and make a profit by. Let’s say that you had decided to produce counterfeit $20 notes. How would you make them look? Would you make them appear as close to the genuine as possible or would the likeness of a $20 monopoly note suffice? No one in their right mind would ever think that they could get away with passing $20 monopoly notes as real genuine legal tender, for such a version of the true would be instantly identified by everyone whom you attempted to deceive. No, a person serious about producing and passing counterfeit money would make their money look and feel as real as the genuine item itself, with as close attention paid to detail as they could manage. The most vital ingredient in the make up of the counterfeit would is a fine attention to detail. In this way there would be a very good chance that most, if not all, the people you tried to deceive would not even look twice at the money you handed them. The money would look like the real thing, it would feel like the real thing, and that, sad to say, is as far as most people’s scrutinizing goes, particularly in matters spiritual. The more attention to detail the more people will be deceived. You have just established for yourself a successful counterfeiting business. In the counterfeiting game there is only one who profits, the rest involved are victims but at the same time very willing victims, for they were convinced that the counterfeit note you just handed to them was in fact the genuine article. They did not question but simply took your word for it. Their ignorance of the fact it was a counterfeit will not help them. The fact they were deceived and received a worthless piece of paper dressed up to look like the real thing is the reality which they find themselves in and they must now face the consequences. There is no one to reimburse them. No one to turn to for compensation.

So many today believe that the jesus a man is preaching is THE Jesus simply because the teacher refers to him as God’s Son and calls him jesus. This is exactly what has occurred and is occurring concerning the preaching of false jesuses throughout the world. Remember, false preachers and teachers teach and promote false gospels which speak of false jesuses. Who He is and what He has done is replaced with the vain imaginations of man and the doctrines and lies of devils and who they say Jesus is and what they say He has done. God’s Word is replaced with the words and traditions of men and their religious creeds. There are many false teachers who are outright liars and who know full well that the jesus they preach is not THE Jesus of the Bible. But for the most part those who preach and believe in a false jesus do it out of an ignorance of the True. As they are deceived, so, too, do they deceive others (2 Tim. 3:13). This does not, however, reduce the consequences for them or anyone who follows these deceivers for the error they are immersed in and take great pleasure in is deadly error. The Lord Jesus explained it in a very simple but graphic picture: "...And if the blind lead the blind, BOTH shall fall into the ditch" (Matt. 15:14). You see, if you do not believe in and follow the True Jesus then what you have fallen for is a counterfeit, an idol of man’s imagination, someone who really does not even exist. He is just a thought without substance. The birth place of idols is in the mind of man. A man imagines how God is like and the idol is born. God has said: "...Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself..." and "...I am God and there is none else; I am God and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done..." (Psa. 50:21; Isa. 46:9,10). God has identified and distinguished Himself from all false gods. There are many idols in this world that man has fashioned out of wood and stone as well as more costly material. Many of these idols are referred to as ‘God’. Yet it is clear from what is taught about these ‘gods’ that they are nothing but idols and not The True God who is the Creator of all. So too, there are many idols borne in the minds of men who are called ‘jesus’ and worshipped as the very Son of God. Many opposing religious organizations, as we will see later, claiming to be Christian teach and promote different jesuses and are obviously not speaking about the same person. Many statues and paintings of ‘jesus’ abound and are even bowed down to and prayed to. Paintings of ‘jesus’ with blue eyes and blond hair are very popular yet could not possibly be THE Jesus for He was born in Israel and most likely had brown eyes and dark hair, and certainly did not look like a blue-eyed blond-haired Californian! He is portrayed as a strikingly handsome man, yet Scripture talks of Him in the following terms: "...He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him" (Isa. 53:2). "Yet even if they tried to paint a more accurate picture of Jesus, it would remain an idol." The picture would be based on speculation of what Jesus looked like.

As with a very good counterfeit version of a $50 note there are many jesuses out there who do bear a striking similarity to the genuine, and one must look closely in order to correctly discern if it is in fact God’s Jesus or not. The general appearance is indistinguishable from the genuine. All the 50's appear in the corners; the correct pictures of the people who appear on $50 notes are there in the right place. The color of the notes is perfect and the feel of the money is also as good as the genuine article. Many denominations and church organizations and religious empires say that their jesus is the Son of God; that he was born of a Virgin in a town called Bethlehem in a stable at night. Many also say that their jesus is God Himself and the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. They say he was nailed to a cross for the sins of men and that he died and rose again after three days and three nights. He was Resurrected and now sits at the Right Hand of the Father. All this might sound like these groups do worship and preach the True Jesus, but when one looks at the finer detail of what they teach about their jesus, one realises that they have cleverly attributed parts of the True Character of the True Jesus and what He has done to an idol of their own making. They point people to the Bible when teaching the very words of Jesus. They say he lived a perfect sinless life, that he performed many miracles, and that he loved people. All this is undeniably true, and one would hardly get to first base in deceiving anyone with a false jesus without promoting most of these widely known and accepted truths concerning Him. The True Jesus, and ONLY the True Jesus I hasten to add, did do these things; He was born of a Virgin (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23), He did die on a cross on Calvary’s Hill (Lk. 23:33), He was Resurrected (Acts 4:33) etc., but is this all we need to know of Jesus Christ the Lord in order to be able to say with confidence that the jesus we worship and love is THE Jesus sent by God the Father to save men from their sins? Do the details of who He is and what He did really matter? Many say, ‘surely it must be clear that the jesus I worship is the same jesus spoken of in Holy Scripture. There was only one person ever who was born of a Virgin and everyone knows that that person was Jesus Christ. Isn’t a knowledge of what happened to Him enough?’ The answer is a resounding NO!! All these facts about the True Jesus are true and are to be believed in from the heart if we are to even begin to be taken seriously over our claim to believe in and teach the Jesus of the Bible. But all this knowledge is not SAVING KNOWLEDGE. There are many extremely religious people in this world who believe most if not all of these facts about Jesus and yet they ultimately deny Him by the other things they believe about Him, principally by what they say He did on the cross, how He saves, etc. Many who believe in these fundamental truths about the Lord Jesus ultimately deny Him because they do not believe the crucial things concerning Who He is and more often what He has done, for it is these very things which identify and distinguish Him from all counterfeits.

Let us say for arguments’ sake that a person believes all these very basic teachings about who Jesus Christ is and what He has done. If one does not hold to even these basics one cannot be considered a true follower of the Lord Jesus, for the Word of God clearly teaches these Truths. Most who claim to be Christian agree that these fundamentals are essentials to knowing Him. It is an inescapable fact that what someone says about a person defines who that person is in that person’s mind. For instance, I can tell someone that I met a man named John Smith, and I am asked to describe him to them, for they, too, know a man named John Smith. I begin by telling him that the John I know is about my height and age, has shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes, and rides a motorbike. My friend then informs me that though there are some similarities with the John he knows it is not the same person. He does not doubt or deny that the John Smith I know has the same name as his John Smith but by my description of the John Smith I my friend realises that it is in fact ANOTHER John Smith whom I have met. It is this exact same situation which faces every one who believes in a false jesus. They have a definition of Him in their minds, they believe certain doctrines about him which distinguish him from all others, but their very definition and description of who He is and what He has done shows that though their intention is to worship THE Jesus of the Bible they are in fact worshipping ANOTHER jesus, a jesus of the cults, a jesus of false religion.

Can you understand the situation I am describing for you? It is the very same situation that most are in today. People are firmly convinced that the person they have known for years, perhaps even grown up with, taught about by their parents who were in turn taught about by their parents, is Jesus Christ the Lord. Yet to one who truly knows Him, to one whom the Lord has truly revealed His Holy Son, it is abundantly clear that though the person may be convinced that the one whom they believe to be jesus is THE Jesus of the Bible, it is in fact a counterfeit jesus, for their description of Him differs to that of God’s. The Bible speaks of only ONE Jesus, and what He has done cannot be separated from Who He is. One cannot attribute anything to Him which He has not done, nor, can one not attribute anything to Him which he has done. The moment you do this you have another jesus. The moment you preach anything but salvation by grace ALONE you have another gospel. The Bible calls this blasphemy.

The apostle Paul and Peter and all the others as well as all whom they taught spoke of ONE Jesus; one specific Individual Who did not fit any old description of Jesus the Person and what He had done but only ONE description of Who He is and what He has done: the description given in God’s Holy Word. One can know ABOUT a person, but that does not necessarily mean that one actually KNOWS that person. The Bible teaches that "...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor. 15:3). The True Christ did exactly what the Scriptures foretold He would do. THIS is the Christ in Whom we are to believe: the One of Whom Scripture speaks. Christ died according to the Scriptures. Jesus fulfilled what was prophesied about Him: how He died, why He had to die, what He would accomplish by His death, for whom He died, and so forth, according to the Scriptures. Thus, the details of Christ’s Life, Death and Resurrection are vital if we are to recognize and believe in the True Jesus, for they speak of Him, they define Him—Who He is and what He has done and for whom He has done it. They identify Him as the True Christ and set Him apart from every counterfeit. One cannot separate Who Christ is from what Christ has done. One cannot have the True Christ if one does not believe in what the True Christ did. Some protest and say, "Yes, but, not all are theologians. You don’t have to know doctrine; you just have to know HIM". One man wisely responded to this absurd and dangerous reasoning with, "The only way you CAN know HIM is by the Gospel doctrine, the doctrine of Christ, that identifies and distinguishes HIM from counterfeits"People say its not important WHAT you believe but WHOM you believe in. But surely WHAT you believe about whom you believe DEFINES the one you believe in!

The True Christ is revealed in the Bible which is the Word (doctrine, ie., teachings) of God. The Bible asks: "How then shall they call on Him (the True Jesus) in Whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?..." (Rom. 10:14, 15). One cannot and never has called on THE Jesus if one has not believed on the True Jesus; One cannot and never has believed on Him if one has not heard of Him: Who He is and what He has done and for whom He has done it; and, one cannot and never has heard of Him: Who He is and what He has done, if one has not had HIM preached by a preacher sent of God or read about Him in Scripture. Jesus said: "And this is life eternal, that they might KNOW Thee the ONLY True God, and Jesus Christ, Whom Thou hast sent" (Jn. 17:3; see also Jer. 9:23,24; Phil. 3:10). How can one who has only ever been taught a false jesus possibly be calling on the True Jesus? How can one possibly believe in THE Jesus when one has never heard THE Jesus preached? How can a church or denomination possibly be preaching the true Gospel when they consistently and persistently tell you of a false jesus?

Again, many people are under a false impression that a mere general knowledge of Jesus Christ and what happened to Him is proof enough that they have the Jesus of the Bible and not a false one. If what you say about Jesus does not match what God says about His own Son then you are obviously describing someone else. You have another jesus, a counterfeit which cannot save. This is Bible language. This is what God says about believing and preaching falsities concerning His Gospel and His Son! If you preach and believe lies about His Gospel then you have another gospel and not God’s Gospel. If you preach and believe lies about His Jesus then you, according to God’s Word, have another jesus and not God’s Only Jesus. You are describing someone else; you are believing in someone else and not God’s Son. A person’s insistence that the jesus they have is the True One despite their description of Him not concurring with that of God’s is as absurd as a person saying that the counterfeit note that has just been handed to them and revealed as a counterfeit could not possibly be a counterfeit because it looks exactly like the real thing. However ludicrous this line of ‘reasoning’ may sound to us most people take this approach when it comes to believing in THE Jesus of the Bible. ‘My jesus is lord’, they say, ‘and he is God and the one spoken of in Scripture. I believe he died and was resurrected. I believe he is God the Son the Second Person of the Trinity and you’re trying to tell me that my jesus is a counterfeit!’ "Get out of my sight," they say, ‘you don’t know what you’re talking about’. These people refuse to understand that to believe in Christ is to KNOW Christ. They cannot come to terms with the fact that if it is as we say, then most people in the world who claim to believe and love the Jesus of the Bible are in point of fact believing in and loving a deadly and satanic counterfeit who has led and is leading hundreds of millions of people to an eternal hell. To deny a truth simply because one cannot come to terms with the ramifications of a provable undeniable fact is to close one’s eyes from reality and become willingly ignorant of the obvious.

We shall now provide brief descriptions, enough to show that they are false jesuses, of the various jesuses which are promoted and taught in churches today by some of the biggest and well known so-called Christian institutions. We will show, by Scripture, God’s very Word, that these are in fact false jesuses, false christs who bring nothing with them but a false salvation, deception, delusion and ultimately an eternity of despair and misery for those who refused The truth about the One True Jesus whom they claim to love so much.

I will, at the outset, in answer to those who will say that surely these religious groups believe in the Jesus of the Bible, and, "They may be in error about certain things about Him but surely its a bit extreme to say that because they believe a few things wrong about Jesus it means they have another jesus, a false jesus and that they are all in a lost state and bound for hell", say that the apostle Paul warned that if any man came preaching another gospel which He had not preached, meaning that if their definition of what the Gospel is did not match perfectly with Paul’s definition, then those people teaching it were not just in error about the Gospel but at that point in time were preaching another gospel altogether and in a damned state and so were all who believe them. So, too, any man who comes preaching a jesus—who he is and what he has done—which does not match perfectly with the One God has defined for man in His Holy Word then that man is preaching not merely error about THE Jesus but is preaching another jesus and he along with all who believe him are at that point in time in a damned state (see Gal. 1:6-9). The Bible states: "But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid TO THEM THAT ARE LOST" (2 Cor. 4:3). If one is in error when it comes to the Gospel and the Jesus it speaks of, God ‘s Word says that that person is not merely wrong and in need of more knowledge, but is in fact LOST and in need of LIGHT for there is no Light in them! (Isa. 8:20).

Firstly, the more obviously false jesuses will be examined. The jesus of the Mormons is one who can easily be discerned as a false jesus by comparing him with God’s Testimony of His True Son in the Bible. The doctrines of Mormonism even deny one of the fundamental basics which the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ. They say He is not the Second Person of the Trinity; in fact there is no Trinity whatsoever according to the Mormons! There is no God the Son, they say. The Mormons’ jesus was a pre-existent spirit, the spirit-brother of Lucifer (Satan). The Mormon jesus was married to both Mary and Martha. Brigham Young, the successor to Mormon founder Joseph Smith, declared that the Mormon jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was ineffective for the cleansing of some sins. Man himself has to atone for those sins which the blood of the Mormon jesus could not atone for.

To say that the Lord Jesus is the spirit-brother of Satan is a gross lie and utter blasphemy. The Lord Jesus is the Creator without whom nothing was made that was made (Jn. 1:1-3). He created Lucifer and so could hardly be described as his brother. The Lord Jesus described those whom He called His brothers as those who believed in HIM and kept His commandments (Mk. 3:33-35). There is no record in Scripture whatsoever that the Lord Jesus married even one woman let alone two. One must go outside of the Testimony of God to find any such teaching. To deny the Trinity is to deny what Scripture clearly teaches: that there is One who is called Father; One who is called Son, and One who is called Holy Spirit. All three are referred to as God yet God is One: "For there are Three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these Three are One" (1 Jn. 5:7). Lastly, as with so many other cults, Mormonism denies the all sufficiency of the blood of Christ to atone for all the sins of all those for whom He died. To declare that Christ’s work on the cross did not do enough and to claim that man must compensate for some of his own sins by atoning for them himself is to deny what Christ DID do on the Cross and shows clearly that one is speaking of another jesus and not God’s Jesus. To join man’s works with God’s grace is something which the Bible says cannot be done: "...if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work" (Rom. 11:6). Man cannot atone for his sins, for in everything he does he sins again. The Bible says there is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood (Heb. 9:22). Man’s shedding his own blood in an effort to atone for his own sins could never work, for man’s sacrifice would be unclean and imperfect because of the simple fact that man is a sinner. Christ’s sacrifice was clean and pure and perfect, for He never sinned. One cannot have the True and ONLY Jesus if one believes in lies concerning His Atoning work. One cannot have the True and ONLY Jesus if one believes in the Mormon jesus.

The so-called Jehovah’s Witnesses also preach a jesus, but it is not THE Jesus of the Bible. We identify their jesus not by how they feel about him but by what they say about him; according to their doctrines. The JW jesus is not God but only ‘a god’. Immediately we see that this is a false jesus, for the JW jesus is not God. They say He is the son of God but not God Himself. They also say that Christ was resurrected a divine spirit creature and that his birth on earth was not the Incarnation of Almighty God. The jesus of the JW’s is not returning, visibly, again, as the True Jesus promised, but has already returned to the earth invisibly. This other jesus of the JW’s ‘...removed the effects of Adam’s sin by his sacrifice on Calvary, but the work will not be fully completed until the survivors of Armageddon return to God through free will and become subject to the theocratic will of Jehovah’ ( ‘The Kingdom of the Cults’, p. 99).

There are many instances in the Bible which show that Jesus Christ is in fact God Almighty: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word WAS GOD" (Jn. 1:1). The WORD spoken of here is Jesus Christ to whom the apostle John referred often as the Word of God. To deny the Deity of Jesus Christ is to deny Him and labels Him a liar, for Jesus often referred to Himself as ‘I AM’—a title the Jews recognized as that of God Almighty (Jn. 8:58 & Ex. 3:14). It is clear simply from this false doctrine alone that the JW’s deny the TRUE Jesus and teach a false jesus. If the jesus you believe in is not God then he is a false jesus and not the Jesus Whom God calls His very Son. The JW’s do not deny His existence; they simply teach lies about Him. This is Satan’s way. Never deny the obvious; just twist the facts, add some lies, and take away some truth about a person, and you have someone completely different. They deny that Christ was resurrected in the flesh. But Jesus said after His Resurrection from the dead: "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have" (Lk. 24:39). Saying that Jesus is not God, it follows that they must deny that Christ was in fact the Incarnation of God. Yet Scripture clearly teaches: "For in Him (Christ) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2:9). The JW jesus has already returned to the earth invisibly, but it is said of the True Jesus that "Behold He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him..." (Rev. 1:7; see also Acts 1:9-11). The JW’s, too, deny Christ’s finished and all-sufficient work on the cross. They say that His death merely did away with the effects of Adam’s sin and enabled everyone to come to Him of their own free will. There are a host of Scriptures which describe clearly what was done on the cross by THE Jesus Christ. These will be dealt with later in the Biblical account of Who Jesus is and what He has done. It is apparent just by this brief look at the JW’s teachings about Jesus Christ that their jesus, too, is a false one for who he is and what he has done is not in accordance with God’s Testimony concerning His own Son but is directly opposed to it. What they say about their jesus sets him apart from the True Jesus. As with the Mormons the JW’s rely on extra-biblical teachings to verify that their jesus is THE Jesus. One cannot have the True and ONLY Jesus if one believes in the jesus of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Christian Science also has a jesus, but is their jesus THE jesus of the Bible? Let’s look at some of their teachings concerning Him. The jesus of Christian Science is yet another jesus who did not atone for man’s sins upon the cross on Calvary’s Hill. According to Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science, "The material blood of Jesus was no more efficacious to cleanse from sin when it was shed upon the accursed tree than when it was flowing through His veins..." (Science and Health, p. 25). They also teach that Jesus’ death for sin was a ‘man-made theory’. Also, Christian Science teaches that the names "Jesus" and "Christ" do not refer to the same Person. The jesus of Christian Science was born of the Virgin Mary’s spiritual thoughts of Life and its manifestation. The one sacrifice of their jesus ‘however great, is insufficient to pay the debt of sin’ (Science and Health, p. 23).

Yet again we see a direct attack on Christ’s atoning work on the cross. According to Christian Science their jesus did not atone for any man’s sins on the cross, so how could their jesus be THE Jesus of the Bible? His work was insufficient to pay the debt of sin. Of the True Jesus, however, the Bible says: "But this Man, (Jesus) after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the Right Hand of God...For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified" (Heb. 10: 12,14). Nothing about the Lord Jesus is so immediately and passionately attacked, distorted and therefore denied as is His atoning work on the Cross at Calvary. False religious groups of every description do this because they are led by another spirit (Satan) and do not know the True Jesus and are not taught by the Father Who sent Him (Jn. 6:44,45). Christian Science even denies Christ’s Holy Birth by saying that He was born in the mind and by the thoughts of a sinful woman! The Bible clearly teaches that the Lord Jesus was conceived in a Virgin’s womb after the Holy Spirit came upon the woman (Lk. 1:30-35). The Lord Jesus was conceived in the Virgin’s womb by the Word of God, not the ‘spiritual thoughts of life’ of a mere human being. To say that Jesus and Christ are not the same Person is to clearly deny what Scripture makes plain. When Jesus asked the apostles who they believed Him to be, Peter answered "Thou (Jesus) art the Christ, the Son of the Living God" (Matt. 16:16; see also Matt. 27:17; Jn. 11:27). One cannot have the True and ONLY Jesus if one believes in the jesus of Christian Science.

These three jesuses are among the more obviously false ones being taught today. They are swiftly and easily identified as other jesuses and not the True Jesus even by those who are themselves followers of a false jesus. Many of these other groups who speak a false jesus openly campaign against the false jesus of Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Christian Science while all the time preaching their own false jesus. Many are under the misconception that simply because a religious organization exposes other groups as false preachers of a false jesus, that this automatically means that that group must itself be preaching the Truth. This is not biblical reasoning but mere human presumption. There are not a few people who have left one religious group for another yet still have a false jesus and no salvation.

Perhaps the best known and avidly followed false jesus is the jesus of Roman Catholicism. This is the jesus which the world, in the main, believes is the Jesus of the Bible, since it considers Romanism to be Christianity. The Roman Catholic jesus in many ways is identical to THE Jesus of the Bible but the dissimilarities show once again that who the Roman Catholics are taught is jesus is not THE Jesus of the Bible but a counterfeit, an imposter, who has led and will lead many to an eternal Hell.

Much of what is true about God’s Jesus has been attributed to the false idol of the Roman Catholics whom they have named jesus. The Roman Catholic Church has done this with many pagan statues ‘christianizing’ them and giving them names of Christian identities. The bronze statue of the apostle Peter which stands in St. Peter’s Basilica, for instance, is really that of the false god Jupiter. No matter with how much affection Roman Catholics refer to this statue as Peter it is in reality Jupiter! So it is with the idol they have named ‘jesus'. The jesus of Roman Catholicism is another whose death upon the cross was insufficient in and of itself to atone for the sins of those for whom He died. In fact, Romanism pronounces a curse upon any who believe that faith alone in Christ Jesus alone and what He has done to accomplish redemption and gain salvation for His people is all that is required for a man to be saved: "If anyone shall say that justifying faith is nothing else than faith in the divine compassion forgiving our sins for the sake of Christ, or that this faith alone is that by which we are justified, let him be anathema (accursed)" (Council of Trent). The Roman Catholic jesus died to redeem man from his sins but his death alone was not sufficient to have atoned for every sin which is why they teach the existence of a place called Purgatory, a fiery prison of torment, equal to that of Hell, where man must go after he has died so that he can ‘finish off’ paying the penalty of his sins which were not atoned for on the cross. By the refining and purifying fires of purgatory coupled with the Blood which Christ shed on the cross, Romanism says that we become fully purged of all our sin and made pure enough to enter heaven. The Roman Catholic jesus appears on their altars as bread and wine and is continually being offered to God in what they call The Sacrifice of the Mass a perpetual sacrifice for the sins of man. The grace of God through Christ’s atoning death and perfect obedience to the Law, ALONE, was not enough says Romanism, but man must perform works, which, coupled with the grace of God enabling him to perform such meritorious works, will one day secure their salvation.

As with many other cults, Roman Catholicism does not overtly deny Christ’s death on the cross; this would be too obvious a lie. They simply say that what Christ did was good, but His death alone was not enough. What man, enabled by God, does must be joined with what the Roman Catholic jesus did in order for man’s sins to be thoroughly purged. A joint effort at atoning for the sins of man is required. It could not and was not done simply by Jesus’ death on the cross alone. What the Roman Catholic jesus failed to do man can make up for with God’s help. Again, its man coming to his own rescue. The Bible clearly teaches that "...by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Eph. 2:8,9). What the True Jesus did on the Cross was enough to pay for all the sins of those whom God had given Him and nothing more was needed. The Bible says of Jesus, "In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:14). Jesus is here on earth say the Romanists but He does not appear as a man; nor is he invisible as the JW jesus is, but he appears simply as bread and wine on their altars during the Mass. They claim that when the Roman Catholics eat the bread and wine they eat and drink Jesus, LITERALLY!! Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is repeated every time there is a Roman Catholic Mass. The Sacrifice of the True Jesus, however, is not something perpetual but was done once for all time: "So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many" (Heb. 9: 28; see also Heb. 9:26). One cannot have the True and ONLY Jesus if one believes in the jesus of Roman Catholicism.

Now we turn to a group which also believes in and promotes another jesus. It may surprise some when they realise that the jesus of the Charismatics is nothing but an empty counterfeit. Yes, the jesus of the Charismatic movement is also a false jesus who cannot save any. The Charismatics say that their jesus performs many wonderful miracles through their leaders every day somewhere in the world. Yet many charismatic ‘healings’ and ‘miracles’ fail and fall far short of the true miracles of healings of the Jesus of the Bible. The Charismatic movement teaches the lie that Jesus died on the cross for every man and that it is now up to the individual to choose Him as their Lord. They teach that Jesus actually went into hell itself to battle the Devil and to finally accomplish what He began to do on the cross. More will be said later on the false jesus who died for everyone. To say that Jesus had to go to hell to continue His atoning work is again to deny what actually happened on the Cross at Calvary and does away completely with Christ’s finished work of redemption for all whom He died for. As with a little leaven, changes which may appear minor to what Christ went to the cross for actually changes all that He did and does away with what He accomplished. If you do away with what He did you do away with Him. If the jesus whom you believe in didn’t do what the Jesus of the Bible did on the Cross then you have a false jesus. One cannot have the True and ONLY Jesus if one believes in the jesus of the Charismatic movement.
